Schofield Town Center ADP wins award!

The Federal Planning Division selected The Schofield Barracks Town Center Area Development Plan for an Honorable Mention Award in the Area Development Plan category at this years FPD Awards Program.  The award will be presented in April at the 2013 National Training Workshop for Federal Planners in Downtown Chicago. The Schofield Barracks Town Center Area Development Plan features several open spaces and parks as features in the central core of the installation, notably Soldier’s Square, Memorial Garden, Heritage Park, and an entry monument. HB&A visits with Cadets at the Air Force Academy

The last week in February, HB&A had the opportunity to speak with senior level Cadets at the Air Force Academy about managing a design project from the perspective of an architect.  Steve Powell and Todd Hand, both architects, spent about an hour with two separate classes describing HB&A’s corporate values, how work is procured, teaming situations with General Contractors and design solutions with Sketch Up and Revit. Construction of RAIDRS is nearing completion…

  Construction is nearing an end for the RAIDRS (Rapid Attack Identification Detection Reporting System, Space Control Squadron at Peterson AFB, Colorado) project consists of the active duty 16th SCS, as well as the 380th Reserve Unit. The new, permanent facility is to be constructed in the Peterson East area of the base, within the existing 76th building including adequate administrative, maintenance, storage, high bay, and secure operational space.
